What Blinki keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it.

Last updated 15 October 2026.

What we collect

  • Your account: email address, username, display name, password (stored only as a hash), avatar and banner, and the settings you choose.
  • What you do here: messages, files, reactions, the servers and rooms you are in, your friends, and calls (signalled by us; the sound and video of a call go directly between the people in it and are not recorded).
  • Blinki: what you ask it and what it answers, the plan and steps it took, the memories it keeps for you (which you can see and delete), and, when you let it, pictures of your screen and the buttons and text of the app it used, or what is in the folder you shared, for that chat. Blinki's own window and any sign-in, password or security window are blacked out before a picture leaves your computer, and only you can see the pictures. For machines you ask it to ssh into: the address, the account name and the key Blinki made for it (the private half encrypted).
  • Security: sign-in devices and sessions, two-factor settings, and refusal logs for Blinki requests that broke our rules (a short excerpt).
  • Technical: IP address, device and app version, time zone, and the usual server logs, kept briefly to run and protect the service.

Why we use it

To run Blinki for you (our contract with you), to keep it safe and stop abuse (our legitimate interest and legal duties), and to improve it. We do not sell your data and we do not show you advertising.

Where it lives and who sees it

Blinki runs on servers we control. Blinki's models run on our own machines; your questions are not sent to outside AI companies. We share data only with providers we need to run the service (such as hosting and the network in front of it), and when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

While you have an account. Delete a message and it is gone; delete your account and your profile and content are removed within 30 days, apart from what we must keep for legal reasons. Blinki memories can be forgotten line by line at any time, and pictures Blinki took of your screen are deleted with the chat they were taken in. Sessions expire on their own.

Your rights

You can see, correct, export and delete your data, object to how we use it, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Most of this you can do in the app; for the rest write to [email protected]. HeyBlinki Limited is the data controller.

Cookies and storage

The website sets no tracking cookies. The app and the web version keep what they need to work (your session and your settings) on your device.

Children

Blinki is not for children under 13. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy. When the change matters, we tell you in the app before it takes effect.
